you need to enable it via redsn0w jailbreak.

nothing at all. you check the options before you jailbreak.

My experience with 4.0 multitasking on my 2g really isn't great. With a fresh install of 4.0 with all my music/apps/etc. installed, I was amazed with the new speed. As soon as I jailbroke and enabled multitasking and homescreen wallpaper, the speed dropped considerably.

To add to that, I hate the way the multitasking works. Every app you open remains open when you hit the home button, so the only way to actually close an app is to double click home, hold the multitasking icons to get wiggle-mode, hit the minus over the apps that have stayed open against your will, and then hit the home button a few more times to get back to the springboard.

If you want multitasking, stick with backgrounder and kirikae/proswitcher/etc. and you will be much happier. Apps don't background unless you want them to and closing them out is simpler. Third party multitasking has been around for years and has evolved into a perfect system. Apple is far behind the game and has really disappointed me with this "new" feature that I am glad I can disable.

    Yup.

But again, Resdsn0w will enable pretty much everything that is oonly avalable on the 3G.
