I'm a developer looking into starting iphone/touch dev. Unfortunately it's quite a seizable investment (mac comp, hardware for testing, developers fee) so I was hoping to have some questions answered beforehand. Specifically I'm interested in redesigning a game I've been working on for the touch. My question is about the feasibility of ad hoc wifi networking (i.e. some sort of local multiplayer via wifi). Is this something that can be done. If yes, is it well documented? If no, what other solutions have developers used to achieve mulitplayer (through an AP, etc.)?

Well I've never really looked into this, but I know that it is definitely possible. There a quite a few apps that work over ad-hoc networks. As for it being documented, I've never looked for it.

Ad hoc is fairly straight forward. Apple even has sample code on their dev site.
