I know that for various reasons the iPhone/iPod Touch developers decided not to include arrow keys or cut-and-paste in the software. However, it's a bit of a pain, for a bad text-enterer like me, who often bangs in the wrong character, and doesn't realize it until a bit later. The cursor can be moved around with the fingers, but the imprecision means that it's not always likely to end up in the right spot.

Is there any way for more precisely positioning the cursor within a block of text? Or, is there some way of obtaining functionality similar to that provided by arrow keys?

    Thanks very much.

Hold down your finger on the text, a little magnifying glass comes up. Hope this helped

Thanks Oleh - that does indeed help! I wonder why I hadn't found that out myself...?

Sadly this doesn't help when your text has scrolled to the left or right of your text window as can happen in some apps. In that case, you cannot get to the text you need. Any ideas?
