I just got a new laptop and I want to transfer my library from my desktop to it. I used iTunes to consolidate files into the iTunes folder, and transfered that folder onto an external drive to put on my laptop. Instructions I found tell me to backup my iPT and transfer those backup files as well. I'm jailbroken. Will my iPod totally restore when I connect to my laptop, thus removing my jailbreak?

No but it will ask you if you want to erase the stuff on it. You can manually add music to it without deleting whats on the ipod, but you cant do that with apps

So, I can add music but not apps? I just want it to do a reg sync: plug in, "iPod is syncing...." and done.
    That isn't possible?

not without replacing all your stuff because its a different itunes library. If you had all the same stuff on the new itunes, then you could just do a regular sync. When i want to find all the apps on my computer, i usually just search for 'ipa' in my computer, im too lazy to find where they actually are

But I'll literally have every file that's on my iPod on my laptop. Will it still want to wipe my iPod clean and reload everything because it's a "different library"?

Yeah, but if you have exactly the same stuff it shouldnt be a problem at all

Well, it COULD be one considering I'm jailbroken and have a decent amount of jailbroken stuff on my iPod.

Oh, i see what you mean. I think because jailbroken apps are given the same permissions and installed as system apps, they dont get erased just like stocks, mail etc

I doubt it. When I go to my iTunes library and to Applications, I don't see Cydia chilling next to MakeItMine.
