movies to ipod

    is there any way to put movies on your ipod without syncing
    like ftp or something, my ipod touch is jailbroken.

    not sure exactly how it would work out since i haven't tried it but:
    you can ftp them into the ~/Media/iTunes_Control/Music/F## files but these inermingle with the itunesDB file that gives them their names in itunes so it might work but your movie's name might be all messed up that way.

    Sure there is.

    (Assuming you have the right video format and a windows pc and your ipod is plugged in)
    -Open itunes.
    -Open the folder that has your movies.
    -Left click on your movie and drag it down over the itunes in the task bar. Your program should switch over to itunes and just keep dragging your movie until it is on your ipod and then let go.

    YMMV, but it works for me.

    that requires syncing doesnt it? I dont want to sync just put a movie on!

    You have to sync...why don't you want to anyways?

    i want to do it because, i just restored my computer, so i lost all my itunes music, i was able to get all the music off my ipod through ftp but then i lost all my playlists, so if i sync my ipod then i will lose the playlists off it but i want to put a movie on...
    that doesnt really make any sense haha

    do you have an older gen ipod video? if so you can restore that. copy your itunes_DB into it sync your movie and then copy the encripted file to your ipot's music DB
