Ok, well these are the steps that I followed so far:

    1. Turn on phone
    2. Unmount SD card in settings app
    3. Enable USB debugging mode
    4. Plug in USB to connect phone and computer (Running Windows 7)
    5. Open SuperOneClick.exe with admin rights
    6. Click root button
    7. Wait
    8. "FAILED"

btw, I selected the "charge only" option on my phone for when connected to usb, not Portal/Tools or Read SD Card.

also, what drivers r u talking about? the phone's drivers? where can i get them?

Hey, now that you mention it, i think that this error is occuring because I dont have the drivers installed because it gives me a message saying that the drivers check was failed and that if it is 2.0 or higher. I've attached the pics of the errors that I am getting.

Just try the usb drivers themselves first, you will probably have no use for adb.

    ^ What this guy said.

If USB drivers doesn't work, install the adb drivers.

If all else fail, use a new computer. Best to be XP
