    Hi everyone.

This is my first post in the forum and unfortunately it's about a problem with my iPod touch 2G.

When I enter to iTunes and go to the Summary section, in the capacity bars (audio, photos, videos, other, free) the capacity in "other" is more than 4GB! When I go to settings/general/about in my iPod, the same happens.

I did the jailbreak on my iPod time ago. When I saw the problem, I restored the device to its original settings and did the jailbreak again.

I installed some music (74 songs) some apps (17)and a couple of photos. I've also installed some Cydia apps.

When i did that, the same happened after restored and jaibreaked.

Here some pictures to explain it better:

Others is, if I'm not mistaken, all your jailbroken applications and what not. If you've got loads of emulators and roms, that's what it most likely is.

Yeah, it's probably from your jailbroken applications.

Other than that, I don't know what else it could be.

Usually that will happen when you use the update button instead of the restore in iTunes. Restore with a fresh firmware and not a custom one.

The same thing happened to me right before I updated from 3.0 to 3.1.1 except it was about 7GB in others, my iPod touch isn't jailbroken either. I ended up losing all my notes and other information because iTunes backed it up that way, I was so mad

This also happens when restoring an iPod from a backup. Restore and start this iPod as a new device.

are you using mew seek pro?

this happens a lot where it makes a second copy of ur music for no apparent reason and saves it in the "other" category

Doesn't cydia take up a certain amount of space that is reserved for your apps? maybe cydia set it really high or something. i swear i read that somewhere
