    Hi I was on a plane listening to my ipod when all of a sudden it just froze. The screen turned black but the music was playing. Nothing worked when I tried to turn it on and so when I got home I plugged it into the computer and all seemed to work fine except all my songs were wiped clean. So I added my music and now I've noticed that there is a large portion of my memory on the ipod being used by "Other". I dont know why there is so much space being taken up by it but id like to know how to fix it since it is wasting space.

    Any help is appreciated,
    Thanks

    If ur iPod is JB then all of ur apps take up space in the other catagory. It is also possible that ur old songs got relocated and are now in the other catagory. U can always restore.

    ssh/ftp in, delete /private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music and /iTunes and /Artwork
    maybe even just /iTunes or /Music or just the contents i haven't tested thoroughly

    oh noes my iPod isn't recognized anymore HALP!!!!!z!2!

    iTunes->Preferences->Syncing->Remove Backups
    your iPod will now be recognized as a new device

    i take no responsibility if something goes wrong.
