i just think its insane that theres 10 stickies... when you could normally scroll down and read 30+ topics on one page, now you can only read 20 because those stickies are always taking up room. and when you go to the next page, oh look, theres those same 10 stickies again...most of the stuff thats stickied doesnt even need to be.
iJailbreakMobile, ok i can see how that would be useful.
solutions to jailbreak problems, thats useful as well
iphysics, that shouldnt even have been considered to be stickied...
that "older version jailbreak" thing, ok, we get it, but its been taken care of a week ago already. most people have updated their jailbreaks with the new version, so it doesnt need to be there anymore.
the 3 SkylarEC posts dont really need to be there. one of them he wrote before a jailbreak was released, so its completely out of date. its still saying stuff like "you cant use the iphone apps without buying them" and some of the information is completely wrong. the GUI jailbreak, that doesnt need to be stickied here because its already in the Jailbreak section. downloading firmware from apple, thats what the search button is for... Springboard fix is outdated... that from NateTrues jailbreak, its not needed and (as far as i know) doesnt even do anything on the Dev Teams method.
fixing mail problems... thats just another waste of space. all that needs to be said is "open installer, download mail fix, close installer".

Sorry for the rant, but it needed to be said

    Thank you.....

All I wanted to state is that we have too much information dispersed on the sub-forum.

jbs, errors, apps, probs with apps, its just crazy that's all.

like 1337chaos it's to many scrolls

    1337chaos, well said.

moderator (forget your username, it's on page one), thank you for taking the time to reply. I pm'ed you the link to the thread I created two or three days ago.

Hope things start to clear up. I, at times, don't even feel like coming in this sub-forum because of how much of a sh*tpile it is.

In fact, I do come in here much less than I used to.

    Edit:
Check it out, we're down to 8 stickies.. Good start.

    Edit:
    Down to 7. :)

    Edit:
    Down to 6. :D

Glad to see at least SOMEONE is taking our suggestions seriously. Thank you.

    OK: Stickies Tidied up.

I have left the ACTUAL JB methods, but used Jody's thread to link to all of the "Tech Support" Threads.

If we see an increase in Stupid Questions regarding the 1.1.3 that are answered in Jody's thread, I may have to re-consider - but for now, I agree the tidy up was necessary.

I agree - we have to remember that due to the pure nature of the forum, we will have alot of members and visitors alike accessing from the iPhone / iPod Touch.

    glad to help.....

    We should sticky this :p

The mess may wind down a bit in the next week or two, then we can have a couple weeks break until the SDK is released along with the "real" 1.1.3 jailbreak.

    Brace yourselves.

I used to be upset over it, but now its just amusing/fun to watch. Enthusiastic lot, thats for sure. Some folks are getting in over their heads, but so far as I know it really is impossible to totally bork a touch, and we have had 0 deaths.

I think the craziness is unstoppable.

i kind of agree with the testing first bit. however, there are only so many ipods that the developers and/or the mods have access to. as far as they can determine on their ipods, the methods work. this is because they have a limited number of configurations and only those configurations have been tested. to do a proper test would require at least a few dozen ipods with various apps installed. unfortunately, people who are eager to upgrade have become those beta testers.

the only thing that can help is a notice to the early adopters that these methods have been tested on only a limited number of ipods and that they risk all sorts of problems by upgrading.

    early adopters = beta testers.

my point is that it has to be put out there so that people who try it out can report back the problems so that it can be corrected for the next round...until it's perfected as much as it can be perfected.
