    I have a 8g 3G Iphone.

It was almost bricked and luckly got it back by restoring on another pc.

But this updated me to 2.2.1. which also gave me 2.30.08 moden firmware which is whats not letting me/us unlock/jailbreak my/our phone.

My question is is there a downgrader to get me back to either 2.2 or just my moden firmware back to 2.28?

Or should i sit tight and wait for the team to unlock/JB this updaate?

    thanks!

You can jailbreak 2.2.1 at the moment BUT you cannot unlock it, this is due to the new baseband (modem firmware)

Unfortunately there is NO was to downgrade the modem firmware

From what we know there is no way to downgrade it There may be a possibiliy of doing a downgrade then using a pwned firmware with preserved baseband to achieve this. Not sure if it will work tho.

You are screwed now. You could have made a custom firmware with Pwnage Tool that would change the baseband and then used the updated Yellowsnow.

So i couldnt just put it in restore mode and restore using 2.2 firmware..

even if i had to leave my baseband where it is?

Im basically stuck using 2.2.1 FW/2.30 MFW which is unbreakable/unlockable at the moment correct?

You can go back, you can jailbreak, but you will not be able to unlock anymore.

    wowzers. worse than i thought.

so what are my options now?

a safe break/unlock is enevitable right?

so i could just wait this storm out. and see if this current FW/MFW will be done using pwn maybe.

    thanks for ur help btw.

No, the Dev-Team told people not to do a normal update to 2.2.1 for a reason. They are not currently working on new Unlock, nor will they have one for a while if they started right now.
