mod the boot apple??

    Not yet, sorry. You can change it to show the boot text but there's not really much point, it doesn't really look very nice.

    yeah but it does make it boot a bit faster

    People have had varied results. My iPod's boot time is exactly the same in text mode and with the apple logo showing.

    The boot logo is in the firmware. . .
    Feel free to figure out how to edit the firmware properly and post here.

    mine is about 12 seconds faster with Txt - timed with and without.

    Does depend on what has been installed and when, I think some installs perform updates on boot.....
