    hey folks,
    i´ve got an annoying problem with my jailbreaked ipod touch 1.1.4
    after i had the spinning wheel of death i restored my ipod with itunes and (i think thats the fault) used a backup itunes made of it the day before.
    now everything works fine except mobilemail.app.
    when i try to start it, it quits itself after a couple of seconds.
    at first i wasnt even able to access the mail preferences. but with the help of a friend i copied some preferences from his ipod to mine.
    the suprising thing is: the ipod still knows MY email account; and i´m not able to delete it. not even if i restore my ipod to factory defaults.

    sounds to me like theres a problem with the rights management.

    but i already checked the rights of the following files and compared it to another ipod with mobilemail:
    1. MobileMail.app ---> /Applications/
    2. GMM.framework ---> /System/Library/Frameworks
    3. mobilemailsetting.bundle ---> /System/Library/PreferenceBundles

    is there any other file i need to check?

    reinstallation with Installer.app doesnt work either.

    thanks in advance

    I would be interested in an answer to this as well. Since I jailbroke my 1.1.4 iPhone I am unable to receive mail (except my work IMAP mail). I'm also unable to watch YouTube movies, for that matter, but that's a different issue.

    As far as watching YouTube videos goes, it may have something to do with the YouTube certificate issue. If you search for the YouTube Certificate Fix in Installer, it should work again.

    Is the mail fix something I download with installer or something I have to google and do on my own?

    For mail, I used FileBrowser to navigate to /var/mobile/Library and changed permissions on mail to 777
