Alright just got MobileFinder working on my Iphone 3G 2.0.1
Here is how to do it: First SSH into iphone/ipod touch
1)Find the MobileFinder that you downloaded for app store in /private/var/mobile/Applications its in one of those XXXX folders
    2)Move just MobileFinder.app folder to /private/var/stash/Applications..... folder
3)Set permission of Mobilefinder folder to 0777 and set recursivly
4)Create Documents folder in /private/var/mobile set permissions to 0777
5)Put symlinks in this folder of folder you want to see and edit.
6)Go to any folders you made symlinks to and set their permissions to 0777
7)Use wiggle method to delete springboard mobilefinder icon
8)Reboot Iphone or Ipod May take 2 reboots (dont know why)

I have done this 3 times on 3 different Iphones and it works

Let me know how it goes!!!!!!

Can you edit files or just view all of your files?

Well I did it but it seems that I can only edit, change files that aren't owned by "root:admin".
(such as mobile:staff). Is there a solution for this?
I followed your (and another tutorial) and I didn't do any mistakes.

That way just lets you view root. I want to copy and delete files through finder.

Yes it work just remember that any folders that you make symlinks to in your Documents fold, you have to go to that folder lets say it is system/library/Fonts you have to set the permissions to this folder in ssh to 0777. I downloaded a font from safari and moved it into this folder and then renamed it so it definitely works.

Notice the part about moving the Mobilefinder.app to a different directory, its very different i can take a file from download plug in and put it into my system/font folder.
