I was wondering if there is any command that I could type in that would allow me to run an application in the background, for example is there a command that would allow me to run aim, but not have it open, and I could use other applications while its running an I could recieve the alert sounds to let me know I recieved an IM

    ~Thanks

That's not the name, it's the directory that mobile terminal is in. ( if you talk about the ~mobile )

You can't, root and mobile are users, and you can't change them, ideally, you shouldn't even know they exist, but jailbreak changes that.
