Quick explanation- playing music on my iPod locked the iPod, song finished unlocked iPod but got no further than entering in the passcode- iPod froze- tried pressing the home button - was scared to do anything more- after about 30 seconds a screen came up and told me mobile substrate did not cause this problem but helped me fix it ( thank you very much mobile substrate) told me it was in safe mode so I pressed the restarting button it showed me andnit fixed everything. Now a few questions
    1. I never paid attention to mobile substate before but now I love it a apparently it save my ass so my question is- what is it exactly and what did it just do!?
    2. Is there anyway I can stop this from happening again or does this happen to everyone some time ?

    Huge thanks

What was the last thing you installed from Cydia?

    1. Mobile subtrate, in n00b terms, basically host a variety of springboard and lockscreen tweaks. What you experienced was "Safe mode." It's something Mobile subtrate does when one of it's programs could cause damage to your device.
    2. Have you installed any lockscreen/springboard tweaks lately? Have you uninstalled any daemons?

I have actually installed a lockscreen sounds unlock thing- however this isn't from cydia but was made up of sounds off the Internet, could this be the damage? If it is can I just take it off the unlock sounds or do I have to fullydelete it from my iPod ? It was really good sounds too

I'd remove those sounds to be safe. If it continues, then you have a different problem.

Is it safe enough to see if it happens again and then delete it?
