I know it would be a little bit superfluous, but what
if there was a mobile SDK that let you run your code right on your ipod touch,
    no computer sim required
it would probably be a lot of work, but it would be quite nifty, like, if you're on the
    go

That would be a very non-productive app

Not effective. It would take hours to make a simple app. Screen is simply to small and it is a very power hungry application... code in notepad than email it?

It would be extremely hard to program programs on your iPod, test running to see if things work would be even harder... But it could work out, but it's better to use a computer to do this... Good idea though.

I still don't understand why this and other OS X apps haven't been made for the iPod touch/iPhone..

I mean if you can plug the iPod into a monitor, the touch-screen of the iPhod turns into a full screen keyboard with like the options "Keyboard (greyed out when in use)", "Mouse", etc.

I mean it's like a super version of VNC. All you would need is the Monitor and the cable that connects the monitor to the iPhod...amazing futuristic idea.. I would DEFINATELY use it. Save you buying a computer. If you have a 64GB iPod touch (if it comes out) it would be awesome. Like dual boot iPhone OS and Monitor-Only-Version of Mac OS X (like only the iso, which allows it to run when the iPod is plugged into a Monitor. I suppose what i mean is use it as a portable hard-drive. Still though..Awesome Idea.
