I have a 3GS on 3.0.1, and have not yet updated the carrier settings or whatever. I plan on doing it when I jailbreak for 3.1.

However, I am just wondering if I can do MMS? I have the 3GS with the iPhone Data Plan and 200 text messages. Does a MMS count as one of those text messages or do I have to pay extra?

    Thanks, also..

If I want to tether, and I do that thing through Safari (bad description, lol, but I think you go to Safari and download some AT&T setting), is it safe? Is it okay to download that setting and stuff?

    Thanks once again!

If you are using AT&T you need to update your carrier settings AND use 3.1. As far as the tethering "hack" goes, it's completely safe, I've used it before, but that doesn't work on 3.1 and yes MMS counts as part of your 200 texts. So it's your choice, either tethering or mms(for now lol).
