I spent about 8 hours making a humungous house that literally touched the clouds on a server, but then the server went under construction. My house was untouched, but I lost permission to build there before I had built a door.
I built a rubiks cube form scratch, making each colored block a 3x3 square, so for example, the red side had 9 3x3 squares made out of red wool, with black wool seperating each square. It took me a VERY long time to gather up all of the elements and supplies. I accidently spilled lava and it burned down. -__-
I didnt know wool could burn.. Guess I'm more careful than I thought as I've only ever burned some trees by mistake (and i've played a lot of MC)
on my laptop i accidentally spilled lava and it was a block away from the entrance to my underground house. i died 3 times getting rid of the lava. luckily, all that was lost was some minecart track and some of my inventory. earlier when i came upon a cave and i was digging redstone underneath me (stupid) i fell into a gigantic lava pit. right before i died i saved, downloaded, and installed mcedit. i then moved my player a few blocks away from where i fell into the lava pit. i guess i cheated death in minecraft. (mainly did it because i didnt want to lose all the things i had mined and i was using my only diamond pickaxe)
I lit a sheep on fire, not realizing there was one of my server regulars' wooden house on a lake right next to it...
You know what sucks. When you are a n00b, and you set wool on fire in alpha not thinking it does anything, then having your whole house burn down
