one of the best file managers. Simple. Like the old Norton Commander.

It's a console-based two-pane file manager. If you've used WinSCP (and chances are you have) it's kinda like a non-graphical version of that for navigating only a single PC. You can have a folder open on one side, a folder open on the other, and do things between them or in one. I personally don't like it, but i can see how it could be useful. I'd prefer a graphical one that had the same functionality over the actual midnight commander, however, I might actually use it then.

I manage to install MC on my ipod touch but I have access to it only via SSH.
First I made “jailbreak” (v 2.2), then I install “toggle ssh” on “cydia”.
Now you can log in to iDevice(pod/phone) via ssh such as putty and type in your console
    > apt-get install mc < and press Y(yes) when installer ask, and then type mc and there it is.
legendary file manager. Unfortunately I have no idea how to get is to work from iDevice it self.
It work good but only when U log in to iDevice via SSH. But maybe some one know how to create a shortcut to this program from iDevice “desktop”?
