The iPad 3 16 GB costs $499, the 32GB of the iPad 3 costs $599....It's the same price for the RT version. Except the Surface starts at 32GB which is the same price as the iPad 32GB.

The Pro is expected to cost more than the iPad.

Are we really surprised? When Android manufacturers stepped into the tablet game, they were DOA because their prices were extremely high. the cheapest Android tablet was more than 700 (And even today, HTC can't get their large tablets right, pricing the Jetstream at a hardcore 800 USD On contract).

Windows RT Tablet's costing $600, specifically surface? Possibly, but they can definitely lower the price somehow. Windows 8 Pro tablets, I wouldn't be surprised, they said the price would be "Comparable to ultrabooks" so a high price is expected. Besides, what does Surface with Windows 8 Pro have that a current ultrabook doesn't? My mother bought an ultrabook the other day for $899, with an Intel i5 Sandy bridge CPU, 4GB of RAM, the dreaded 1366x768 display (but it's actually beautiful, the colors are just vibrant), larger SSD (128 GB wasn't enough)..

Windows 8 Pro Surface tab on the other hand has a 1080p Display and USB 3.0, Intel Ivy Bridge CPU (You insert the rest of the specs here, I forgot the rest).

Surface Pro is nothing more than a high end Ultrabook with no Keyboard.

In the end, even if these are the actually prices, I'm not surprised.

At $999 you might as well get a MacBook Air. More bang for your buck.

Runs Windows 8 and Mac OS X just fine!

    And flesh! :p

More importantly we know the battery life of the iPad and Air, 10 hours and 5 hours (11" model) respectively.

Of course. See. You pay for quality. I'd rather buy from apple for sake of running both OSx and Windows 8 (like I'm gonna use windows 8  ). I also would have superior customer service. I have never gotten the same satisfaction as I have from Apple, than any other place.
