Compared to the RT version right? The Pro is like a laptop in tablet form.

Im predicting a two to four month hype about the Microsoft surface, then people will go back to the "Meh, it's Microsoft" kinda attitude.

why? the Surface with Windows 8 pro is enough to replace a laptop for most. it's not just about Surface, there will be lots of Windows 8 tablets and touchscreen laptop rolling out soon after Windows 8 releases. but the Surface is certainly the best form factor to use Windows 8.

if the pro is priced right at equivalent to around ultrabook price, i might pick one.

That's just it. The more things that the Surface can equally perform as, the less likely it will become more popular than a computer that can do exactly the same thing.

The iPad is still a success because it wasn't made to run OSx. It would be silly to put OSx on the iPad. It would be more with it to buy a MacBook Air.

You are correct in saying there will be more tablets and computers running windows 8. That's what will hurt the Surface. It won't be unique after a few months because everything else can do the same thing.

for people who know about Surface and have used Windows 8, would prefer Surface over ultrabook (mostly) unless they are going for high specs laptop.

Windows 8 is designed around Metro not Aero of Windows 7, even tho it runs Desktop on it. it's not exactly putting a desktop OS into a tablet, they made one for it compatible with desktop.

Microsoft said they will be selling few millions of these, so they aren't fully competing with other Windows 8 laptops/tablets considering they are expected to sell over 375 millions windows 8 PCs. they have patent to surface design and parts so not everyone will have same thing as Surface but Surface should inspire OEMs to think about designs for Windows 8 devices.

Umm... It doesn't have an integrated keyboard. It has integrated pogo pins for docking with a keyboard.

Do we have any information on pricing yet?

Does it have USB? Cause if it did and I got one of these I'd install iTunes and sync my iPad with it mwahaha.
