I hope this works for them but they have created an absolute mess.

I don't see what you're going for here. It can't be worse than Apple releasing a new iPad less than half a year after they released another. Now THAT is a mess.

That's a mess if you are a 12 yr old. Looking at the big picture, the implementation, marketing of this release, and the new tablets, it is a mess.

I don't see the mess you speak of.

I guess that's why you aren't a tech or marketing expert. Anyway I hope it works out well. I think the tablet could fill an open niche in the market. There will be a strong learning curve for Windows 8 users but in the end it is a big improvement and step forward.

I'm not. I don't ever plan to go into marketing.
But it obviously doesn't matter, as I think they've done a great job. They introduce it, get hype. Reintroduce it before it comes out, and the hype comes back. Put a release date and people are happy.

Obviously you didn't catch the irony of my statement. And inferring that I am 12 just makes you look juvenile yourself.
What I meant to have come across was that no matter the "mess" that either company has produced through their implementation of their new products, the bottom line is, it worked. People are going to buy the product, no matter if the mysterious "mess" you see in their actions actually exist.
