This is a discussion thread for the "Microsoft Failed to Market the Surface Properly" story posted on the front page.
This site REALLY needs new reporters. Have you not seen the hype for this thing?! It's everywhere! You guys were some how a day late to it. I don't know a single site that I haven't seen it on. inb4 butt hurt mac fags say iPad is better.
The thing got announced yesterday... Everyone knows about it... How did they fail already? It's not like Microsoft is going to do what HP did with Palm OS (which did get marketed with features and hands on like Apple does). That is a marketing failure. Microsoft is far from that right now.
I usually skip replying to posts like this, but I couldn't help it. He stated: "I am still extremely interested in the Surface, but Microsoft marketed it in a way that has created only minimal hype that could slowly fade away by the time the tablet is released." He never said there wasn't going to be any hype for it, because there is (right now), but simply stated that he thought their timing was off and hype was going to slowly fade away.
qq harder about bias on an apple-based site they're not going to market it because it's a f***ing flagship in the same sense the nexus is, it's only there to give a cookie cutter on how some sh*tty pc manufacturer's windows 8 tablet with a terrible name (think asus touchfast) should be. microsoft is a software company. the censoring on this site makes me look like a 12 year old
So Microsoft isn't Apple and they're certainly not RIM. It's not a failure in any way. Microsoft is Microsoft: they like to hype things a bit, get people really excited, and then release the product in peak season. I think that's a really good strategy, to be honest, but it would have been nice if things weren't so enigmatic. Sadly, it would seem that whenever someone on this site takes a chance at being slightly opinionated or blunt, they get hit in the face by readers. Have a heart, people.
