Comparing the iTouch 8G with the 32G
    3rd Gen.
I know the 32G comes with a headphone with a mic and has "voice control".

    What is voice control?
Can I use a headphone with a mic in the 8G just as I would with the 32G?
Will there be any difference with voice/speaker between these two models?

When you plug in a headset that has a mic I assume you can talk and hear the party using Skype on both the 8G and 32G models?

There are cheap ($2) one ear headsets with mics that you can buy at the dollar store.
I think they are designed for cellphones to replace handsfree mode.
Can these cheap headsets be used with an iTouch?
Do they work and will the sound/mic be decent in quality to use with Skype?

    TIA

    1) how are they $2 at the dollar store? lol.

    2) those designed for cell phones will most likely not work with iPods, unless you have a special jack into which the jack from the headphone goes into the port on the special jack, which then goes into your iPod.

Yeah that's one of my big pet peeves with the $stores these days. They've even got the nerve to sell items over $10 now and many items are now $2.

Thanks for the heads-up on the 'cellphone' headsets.
Is there an easy way to spot whether it would work or not?
I mean can you look for a 3.5 mm stereo vs. mono etc. or something like that?

I'm trying to learn all about this mysterious machine as quickly as possible. I know if I plug in a headset that I have with mic and speakers (one jack for speakers, one jack for mic), if I plug in the mic jack half way in (it's a stereo mic) I can use it with the iTouch. It cuts out the iTouch speaker though.
If I plug it in all the way in, it won't work though.

Can you please explain what voice control is?

    Also these questions weren't answered:
-Can I use a headphone with a mic in the 8G just as I would with the 32G?
-Will there be any difference with voice/speaker between these two models?

    TIA
