iPod Touch 1G Users doesn't have any chance to get a mic working on there 2.x device! Some smart guys had started a big project called touchmods , they created an external microphone for the iPod Touch and sold thousands! But there is one problem:
The software to get this device working with your iPod Touch worked just fine on 1.1.x, but now with the Firmware 2.x Apple erased some necessary parts in the firmware, which made it possible to use the microphone ( the line-in ).
There is one team, that could be able to code the necessary parts for the 2.x Firmware, the iPhone Dev Team !
I know, that the iPhone Dev Team, did a lot of hard work, its just a pleasure.
This would be a small revolution in the time of iPod touch!
I often emailed with the admin of touchmods.net, he already sent the iPhone Dev Team a mail, but they didnt answered.
    So Please Vote !
It would be awesome to get an external microphone working on iPod Touch 2.x.

If you are a smart guy, who know some important things about the dock cennector line-in ports or ipod kernel extensions / coding, email me at fettwuff2000@gmail.com

    Thanks for reading

I don't think the Dev team would do this. They would rather focus on more things that have a point. Like unlocking the iphone 3G or jailbreaking the iPod touch 2G. I am not saying that the microphone is just stupid, but I also know that the Dev team probably wouldn't be up for it. Touchmods are probably done too.

    Hello

First: sorry for my bad english

    i 've the following question:
I hav an Ipod touch 2G and would like to use it for stereo line recording. Can I use the special adapter which is shown on touchmods or is the input on the dock connector also locked in 2G?
If not, would it be possible to use a tool like "Alesis Multimix 8" for recording on my iPod tocuh 2G?

    Thanks for help

the touchmods mic requires an jailbroken ipod touch, of the 1 generation. The
    is firmware based.

I guess this corresponds to the 2.2 update. I haven't tried it yet.

Wait, since the headphone jack has been allowed now, does that mean that could be true for 1st gen Touch's as well?
