According to MacRumors, there is the possibility that:

"There remains the possibility that this is a misprint on Apple's website and the iPod Touch does not support the microphone portion of the headset."

If this is true AppStore apps will be devided to three compatibility level

    1. Lowest level suported by all iPhone platform devices
    2. Apps that use Mic (iPoT 2G, iPhone)
    3. Apps that uses camera or GPS (iPhone only)

They have it for both. The In-Ear has the same Mic system as this one.
