Memory allocation and Backgrounding?

    The only real reason I wish to Jailbreak my 2G is so I can run apps in the background while surfing the web or other tasks.

    How well does the iPod handle two things running at once? Does is chug along ?

    well in the ipod touch 1G, its a bit laggy, depends on the apps that are running. i guess we will a expect a lot more improvement with the 2G.

    I would imagine it runs a little slower than normal, but I doubt Safari or many other applications (except those that are graphic intensive) use all of the devices memory, which leaves room for other apps to be run in the background.
