may be this would work on the ipod just wanted some feedback before i attempted it

my attempt would be to run a dos shell on ipod touch this may open the way for windows on ipod

    heres my theory

first i would install java on my ipod touch using the following method

    http://java4iphone.com/all-news/tutorial-install-java-on-the-iphone/

once installed my question is would a java pc emulator work on ipod

    like the one at

    http://www-jpc.physics.ox.ac.uk/home_home.html

i would love to hear peoples opinions before i tried this wether or not this would work or not

the main problem i would see would be lack of mouse or keyboard support

would there be a way round this ?

i look forward to hearing from you all

    peace out

How are you going to run a DOS shell on a UNIX based environment?

That guide is for 1.1.4 btw and it uses Installer which has been put offline.

How are you going to make it run on 3.0?

Where would you place the DOS script in order for it to run?

And I have never heard of a Java x86 emulator for the iPod/iPhone.

And if you do get it running in a Emulator then your doing only that..........Running in a simulated environment so you wouldn't be "unlocking" it for the iDevices.

If you want to run Windows in an Emulator just use BOCHS or whatever its called.

Even if there is a new version of Java out for it your still just going to be running Windows or another OS in a simulated environment like Bochs does.

When you figure out a way to get it to run natively, like iPhone Linux did (kinda without the drivers though) then you have a breakthrough.
