Tell us what the error messages are.
You aren't bricked, we need more information.

That guy has no idea what he is talking about. If iTunes refuses to restore your iPod, then AutoDown isn't. Autodown is a windows executable for downgrading firmware. Which won't help you.

What is the specific error message?

    1) Connect the iPod to your computer. Open iTunes. "
    2) Keep the two buttons On the ipod simultaneously.
    3) When your computer make a noise, release the switch on the top of the iPod immiediatement.
    4) Wait ten seconds. When your computer makes another noise, release another switch.
    5) Hold the Shift key and click "Restore" (restore, restore french?)

Credit to Whosthatrandom. I translated it from french though.

Try DFU mode. You might not be properly in it.

    ok.
Download independence. open it up. it will kick it out of restore mode.
search how to downgrade or the errors. but until you figure out the errors how to fix them, you will at least have an ipod

Or follow spoons advice (didn't see he gave the error message XD)
