How does this differ from other retail stores?

"4. Does the First Amendment apply to private companies and organizations?
No. The First Amendment applies to the government — to protect individuals from government censorship. While the text of the First Amendment says “Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom of speech,” it means that no federal, state or local government official can infringe on your free-speech rights. A private company is not a government or state and therefore generally is not subject to the requirements of the First Amendment."

Yah no. Bad mouthing your company publicly on social media sites will get you in trouble, b*tching about customers publicly on social media sites will get you fired at pretty much any company you'll ever work for.

These people seriously shouldn't be working retail.

But you think most retail managers would check? I doubt it.

I got a massive telling off once for moaning about work on Facebook. A lot of companies have revised their social media policy so they can penalise employees who mouth off online.
