That article was so extremely biased. There are many redeeming aspects to the surface, but the writer just felt like taking a crap on it, and not talking about anything else but its shortcomings.

The bit about the pixels made me laugh, though I do know that these salespeople have been instructed on how to respond to nearly every question in a specific manner, just as apple has (http://gizmodo.com/5938323/how-to-be-a-genius-this-is-apples-secret-employee-training-manual) and it did seem as though the writer took advantage of this for his own entertainment instead of trying to gather up evidence to make an honest review.

I feel bad for employees of both companies retail stores. It seems like they have to pressure the hell out of potential customers to make the sale, even if it is obvious they would be better off with the competitors products instead.

"On his way to the Apple Store on Friday"

All credibility was lost right there.

    I was thinking exactly that.

And what makes him an authority on hardware anyway? Certainly not the fact he created Instapaper. That fact is irrelevant to this.

Interesting read...slanted to be sure, but interesting.

While it's obviously biased, he is saying basically the same things I read elsewhere, about it being sluggish and such.

Wjay *I* wanna know, is can you install Linux on it? Now THAT would be nice...

I too was on my way to the apple store, but i resisted the opportunity to belittle someone who is trying to make a living as a salesman. There is a difference between being intelligent about your questions and being a dick. This guy is the latter

On Surface with Windows RT, no chance in hell. On Surface Pro or any other Windows 8 (not RT) based tablet, there is definitely a high chance you can.
