This is a discussion thread for the "Marco Arment: "The Mac App Store is in Significant Danger"" story posted on the front page.
The Mac App Store is my primary place where I get Mac software and games. There are definitely faults of buying software from the MAS such as no free trials, severely limited multiplayer for games, and Apple's strict guidelines for developers. I'm not exactly sure if Instapaper's creator is just angry that Apple screwed him over by adding his app's features into iOS and Mac Safari.
How many fart apps are there on the MAS? There are only 11407 apps on the MAS. 10,334 apps were available on April 27, 2012 at 9:10 am. So... its in no danger. Other than crashing due to high demand.
