Hi people I have got the maps application working, it finds locations and everything as usual. only when I try to plan route I get a message saying "Driving directions could not be received" anyone else getting this? or know why this is happening and how I can fix it? Thanks Ali
it could be that you are trying to search for an address that google maps can't recognize. try simply searching for directions from one city to another. for example: Start: San Francisco, CA End: Los Angeles, CA
That is very interesting!!! it only seems to work with major cities and not post codes!!!!! in London, but I guess that's better than nothing.. Thanks for your help though Ali
I havent got this problem as I dont have that app yet! I cant see it on the app list, so what is it called? Josh
well it is called maps, but I am not sure I understand your question. But here goes an attemot: If you have not installed it yet it will not be there, you will need a full jailbreak in order to install and then for the instructions on installing it go to http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1659&highlight=install+iphone+applications Hope that helps Ali
hey ali i have a question about the map.app if you can help me. so i downlaoded the app blah blah. i installed the gmm.framework in the frameworks folder with all the rest and is set to 755. i also put the map.app in the applications folder and converted it also to 755. so why isnt it working?
Hey Based on your post the only thing you are missing to get it to work is the "instalation" itself and to do that login to your iPod via SSH (login: root, password: alpine) then type the following command press return and then restart your iPod and it should get maps to work: /bin/chmod -Rf a+x /Applications/* let me know how it goes Ali
