Hi, I cannot get Maps.app to work on my iPod touch. It just exists directly when it loads the first screen. I did the touchFree jailbreak procedure, did ssh into my touch and added several of the iPhone applications, according to the intructions here on this forum. All the other iPhone apps works fine. And yes, I have set the permissions correctly.

I have SummerBoard installed, perhaps that is causing the problem? And my current location is Taiwan, Taipei. I am assuming the location is not the cause of the crash, Google Maps should work everywhere in the world, right?

Thanks for any input on this.

ive never done this but try deleting the maps.app off your ipod and put it back on

maybe something got corrupted somewhere along the line??
google maps circles the globe so not a problem with that...

i have summerboard installed as well with my iphone apps.. do u have a theme on?
trying changing it to default and restarting your ipod

if i were you id do these steps:

    1. delete maps.app
    2. change the theme to default
    2.5. restart ipod
    3. reload it
    4. change permissions
    5. try again

**PS.. not a clue how to delete cleany

If you are on a Mac - try the following:

I would use Transmit to open my Touch

    Open Applications

    Remove Mobilemap and Summerboard

Just replace mobilemap with a clean copy

    Go to "GET INFO"

    Changed ALL to 755

Restart the Touch and let the Fun began.

Thanks for your replies guys. I figured out it was the GMM.framework that didn't get copied completely to my touch. Some files were omitted. Once I added them, everything seems to work fine...

In the GMM.framework folder, there is another folder called English.lproj, and two additional files GMM and Info.plist. For some reason, when I fist copied GMM.framework to my iPod touch, GMM and Info.plist didn't get copied. I added them, and everything now works fine. Hope you get it sorted out too, mate.
