making reflections beginner photoshop help

    i'm new to photoshop and i've been following chucky102's on how to make avatars and reflections. i finished my avatar but she says to "Simply grab the your image and drop it onto your newly created document, which we made earlier". when i try to drag it nothing happens. here is what i got

    What's hard about it?

    Make your icon... Ctrl-J to duplicate it. Flip it about the x-axis. Lower the opacity. :|

    Chucky overcomplicated it by writing that "guide."

    that doesn't seem to work. it only copies over the backround how do i get the rest

    Any any of your layers hidden by accident?

    how do i check. im a %100 beginer at this

    On the bottom right usually, your layers will be there and they will have an eye to the left of the layer name. If the eye isnt there then the layers hidden. I dont think thats it though, I might give the tutorial a quick go in a minute, see if I have problems. You might have just missed a step thats stopping you from doing it.

    EDIT: Right ive got it now ive read it properly. You need to select all the layers you have for your avatar. You said it only moves the background over and thats because thats the only thing thats selected. So yeah select all the layers (Ctrl + Click for Windows, dont know what it is for Mac) then with the move tool, drag your avatar over to the new document.

    Theres a faded square there, you can see it to the right of the icon?
