Just found this up and thought you iPad users might like it.

First off is the materials you need:
    A Pencil
    A Anti-static sock
    Sewing Supplies
    Scissors

Once you've gotten your supplies you take your scissors and the anti-static sock and now you cut a rectangular shape out of the anti-static are big enough to wrap around your pencil.

Next get that rectangle and sewing supplies and sew a little pocket at one end of the rectangle so the pencil can be fitted into it.

Now at the other end of the rectangle cut it so it in shorter lenght then the pencil. Then stretch the cloth onto the tip of the pencil so it sctretches.

Now start sewing up the ends of the cloth together so it wraps around the pencil. Stop sewing once to read to the top where you made the pocket. This is so you can take out the pencil in later steps.

Now that your down carefully take out the pencil so all that is left is the cloth with a hole.

Now here is the hard part, you will need to make the sock inside-out now. Try using the pencil to push the end of the cloth through the hole. Careful not to break any threads that you sewed earlier.

Now put your pencil back in, the eraser tip point to where the stylus would touch the device. Now sew up the hole and your down! A homemade iPad Stylus. This stylus could be used for your iPhone or iPod Touch even.

Here its being used on the iPad.

Or you can use an unsharpened pencil and wrap it in foil.

I remember a thread like this one made a long time ago on how to make a stylus for the iPod touch, and no, foil won't scratch the screen. You could also use the negative end of a AAA battery.
