    Hi,

I'm trying to help a friend of mine with an iPod touch 2G. The iPod was previously jailbroken with blackra1n and initially things went well. The device came up fine and was used for quite some time. The battery unfortunately died and this is where the problems began. The device was charged and powered up where it appered to be in a reboot loop. I then learned about tethered and untethered jailbreaking. I attempted to restore the original 3.1.2 firmware, but the process failed with an error 6. I tried to re-jailbreak the device a few times, but it still did not work. The initial blackrain wallpaper shows up, the screen goes blank and nothing else happens. Restoring to the original 3.1.2 firmware gives me either error 6 or error 9. I downloaded the 3.1.3 firmware and I still get an error 6 when I try to apply the 3.1.3 firmware.

I have posted the iPodUpdater log from my machine.

I am worried about the "media error" in the log file.

Is there anything I can do about this or is this iPod a goner. Unfortunately, I am not located in the US and can't return it to the apple store.

    Please help.

Is there any hope for this iPod?

Here is what I get when I run the irecover tool

    Code:

Right now, it's stuck at the itunes logo with the USB cable on the display.
