well the "read-only" is a problem, like something obviously went wrong, put it in DFU mode (hold home and power, then when it restarts let go of power and keep holding home) and restore it and try again, if that doesnt work then try using iliberty+ instead of ZiPhone

    Can Your computer detect it?

if it can go into ziphone and boot it into normal mode and see what happens

if it doesn't or the above doesnt work try to force restore by holding down the home and power button and when it rebots hold home and plug it in.

    hope i helped

Follow This Then Restore And You Should Be Good:

[HOW TO] Put iPhone/iPod Touch In Restore Mode:
    1. Hold Power and Home button till it shuts off
    2. Let go of both
    3. Hold both of them down again till it turns on, when it does (You see the apple) Let go of the power button but continue to hold down the home button till you get the Connect To iTunes screen

    Next Time, use iLiberty +
