Ive been trying to get this to work for 3 days, and havent had no lukc AT ALL. I always get a message saying "cannot connect to outgoig sever smpt.gmail.com" and ,mail was unable to open all folders on the sever imap.gmail.com. I have imap turned on in gmail settings, and i dindt go to the gmail settings option, i went o other when setting up my account. My email adn password are correct, but i dunno what i did wrong? any help here?
thats what i have, that was a typo sorry, and i remade my account and it kind of worked. I got to receive messages, but it wont send them. Itjsut says sending one of one, than stops and nothign sends.
man, i had the same issue, i think it must be either ur connection or the app, try reinstalling the app. i never got the mail app to work, until i changed my old ipod touch for a new one on an apple store (home button issues) and it came with the new apps and now i dont have any problems with the mail app.
I have the same problem with a yahoo account, I can read and receive mails but not to send. apple's support pages dont hep very much...
