Same thing is happening to me. I just updated to 1.1.2, though. Prior to upgrading, I had been running Mail just fine on 1.1.1. All my other apps work just like they're supposed to ...

I have similar prob. I used official 1.1.3 jailbreak of dev team. This is my 5th upgrade to 1.1.3 because the last 4 seems to have some error when I install and uninstall some apps. I used ijailbreak then. I Thot everything was now working with the official 1.1.3 jailbreak, but my mail crashes all the time. I can't even delete my yahoo mail acct. It's still there after deleting. Please help.

i had this same problem. I fixed it by ssh'ing into my ipod and going to var/mobile/library/mail and deleting the contents. you might want to back them up before doing this just to be careful. then just launch the app and set up your account again

just chmod Applications/MobileMail.app recursive to 775
and Var/mobile/Library/mail also recursive to 777

    That's all.

The easiest and best way to solve this is what imborden said.

I have made a video explaining how to do this, so you can check that out here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnf0rOqhdzs

Or, here are my text instructions:

SSH into your iPod (using WinSCP, CuteFTP, or a similar program). Navigate to /private/var/mobile/Library and delete the entire folder called "Mail" without the quotes.

Now, startup your mail app, you'll have to reenter your mail settings, but the app will work fine.

    That should work for you.

I used the ahremba method, but i'm having some problems to delete the "Mail" folder with CuteFTPPro.

The problem message is : [29-02-2008 12:00:21] Server returned error.

I managed to delete some files, but there is a inside folder called IMAP-xxxx.xxxx@gmail.com@imap.gmail.com (xxxx.xxxx is my email).

After deleting the other files, i restar my ipod but still the same problem.

    Can someone help me ?

    Thanks

I have my accounts set up and all, but I don't have a Mail folder in private/var/mobile/Library

I've been thinking about this issue and came to this conclusion: Apple is somehow remotely f***ing with Mail. Why do I think this is so? Because this just started happening at the same time (read:this week) to everyone, even though they haven't modified Mail in any way themselves.

Mine is crashing also, Ive done 1.1.4 JB with ziPhone. Cant seem to fix it.

I deleted the Mail folder. I made a new account via Settings > Mail.
I go to run Mail, it crashes to desktop again. I check Settings > Mail, and the account is deleted.
