Mail app keeps crashing

Discussion in 'iPod touch' started by deleted account, May 23, 2008.

  1. I just pwned 1.1.4 with installer 3.11 as the only extra, i then had to restore again, so i used the same custom file, without doing a stock restore to 1.1.4... Now whenever i try and open the mail app, it'll have a white screen with the toolbar above and below, the white screen replaces where it would show my email accounts...

What should I do? I don't wanna restore...

are there any alternatives? Any idea why its happening? could i fix it with openssh?

SSH into your iPod and change permissions to the mail app to 755.

That should fix it, if not the post back
  3. I'll try that... right now my ipod is syncing. Are you sure that'll work? Any cases like this?

    Anymore suggestions?

Yes, that should work, usually anything to do with an application not loading properly OR crashing directly back to the springboard can be fixed by modifying the permissions...

755 almost always remedies apps crashing.
  6. Thanks guys,

Is there any way to do it on my iPod? Like with MobileFinder?

NVM I'll just ssh... but i'm hungry
  7. Where is the app located?

I found one mail app... but its already 0755

    Are the permissions set recursively?
  9. Should they be?

all the other apps around it are 0775

If you are using WinSCP then just check the box in order to do this and see if it works then.
