Here's what you do, get your ipod and place a strong magnet on top of it.

If everything goes correctly, the magnet should eventually destroy the iPod from the inside, but leaving no physical damage to it at all. IDK how long this will take.

Apple will be forced to give you a new iPod.

    Someone try doing this.

I take it that you haven't tried this yourself.
I doubt this will work on the iPod Touch because, to my knowledge, there are no moving parts on the inside therefore the magnet would not be able to pull or push a moving object/part/head into another object/part/head to cause any damage. If the magnet is strong enough, however, it may lift the back of the device off causing physical damage. It would have to be a friggin' strong magnet, though, and you would have to have the strength to overcome the gravitational pull of the magnet to the metal.

Magnetism does not destroy solid state electronics. Maybe, if you happen to have a 500+ pound lift electromagnet it will destroy it.
iPod touch's do not have hard drives, people! This would work any day on a hard disk based player.

Although when they do stop manufacturing 1G's your good to go.

Also, does this mean you can still buy a 1G?
