I'm going off to college next year; can someone help me choose between the black macbook or a refurbished macbook pro (both essentially the same price)?

Does screen size or size in general matter a lot to you?

i prefer the smaller macbook (although when i went into the apple store to weigh the two, the macbook pro seemed a lot lighter)

these are the specs of prospective buys

NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 128MB of GDDR3 memory

    Apple mini-dvi to vga cable
    apple remote
    Price: $1,449.00

    MacBook - Black
    13-inch widescreen display
    2GB memory
    2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
    SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
    Built-in iSight Camera
    apple mini-dvi to vga cable
    apple remote
    Price: $1435.00

i'd like to get the macbook pro for the gaming aspect, although the only game i'd really play on it would be spore-when it comes out in september. would the macbook be able to run spore at a respectable speed?

Ok, if I were you, and you're goin to off to College, get the Black MacBook.

If you get a MacBook Pro, all you're going to do is play games and slack off on studies.

But hey, what do I know. I own an iMac

I think it should... But we don't know the System Reqs yet.

If you want Spore that bad, I'd go to a Low - Mid end Mac Book Pro.

But yeah. Don't slack off on your studies
