MacBook running hot....

    My MacBook is running like 80 deg C and like 180 deg F for thoughts who cant convert and the fans wont stop going at 6200 rpms and this is all at idle..... Help?

    80 degrees is WAY too hot.

    Reset your PRAM and SMC and see if that helps

    Ok, I reset my PRAM like 2 weeks ago but I don't remember how to reset it and how do I reset the SMC ?

    OT: im sorry for kinda going off on you and blake on that tread awhile back.... I am truly sorry for doing that.....

    Running your CPU that hot can cause damage to it. I wouldn't put it under high load until you sort this out.

    I can only get that hot when mds decides to use the whole CPU.

    Turn it off for a while maybe, let it cool down.

    Yea i havent used handbreak but like 1-2 times since it started and its ran at no more than 180 deg F and its 2.0 ghz and 2gb ram btw. oh and i bought it on ebay.....2006 model.

    Install smcFancontrol and see what each fan is doing or if they are both working also
