    I think:
Ok, if this doesnt happen, apple is strange. medium-high end models get the new dual core 2.66 GHz Arrandale Core i7. Even with such low GHz, it is said to outperform the current 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo in the highest end MacBook Pro. RAM will probably stay at 4GB. I want a graphics improvement more than anything. Their "advanced" 9600m GT isn't that good. If they could add a Mobility Radeon HD4650 or 4670, then that would be awesome. its only incrementally better than the current nvidia, but its still better.

The highest end model i hope gets a quad core, but i doubt it.

SINCE I CANT AFFORD ANY OF THE HIGH END ONES,
i want a $749 white MacBook with Core i5 430M (2.26 GHz and 4GB RAM). right now, the offer a Core 2 Duo 2.26 and 2GB RAM for 999. The equivalent PC now costs like 500, since the c2D is outdated.

Dual core i7 eh? Could have sworn i7's were quad only.

No, they have some dual core i7s. Search i7 620m. It's a 32nm arrandale dual core.

Dream on, that price drop is NOT going to happen. Apple always has been pricing their products a lot higher than PC's. If you're not prepared to pay a sum of money this big or can't afford it, go for a PC =)

yup it will cause confusion. the new 2.66 is 20% faster than the 3.06 C2D on the MBP.
