    Maybe get a Fan Controller?
I use smcFanControl for my fan controlling needs.

Lowering SMC won't do anything, but cause problems. You're most likely getting the "beach ball" because your video is running faster than anything else.

Try lowering your resolution and see what happens.

now by lowering my resolution do you mean the ingame resolution or my macbook resolution, any of the macbook resolution options other than 1280 x 800 suck for me, maybe ill try the ingame resolution, is there anyway to upgrade macbook video cards or are you stuck with what you bought. thanks
