They are all good, depending on what you plan on doing with them.

    Windows: Games, Program Compatibility
Mac: Speed, easy to use interface, no viruses, stable
    Linux: Free, fast

No OS is "the best". The best is whatever one works for the end user.

Depends, for gaming a Windows computer is great (im not saying they cant to other things).
For designing i would say a mac is the best for.
And well... Linux... its just ok at everything... nothing special...

OS X 10.6 is my choice but other people would have different opinions...

I would have to say that I like Windows 7 the best, but any other version of Windows I strongly dislike.
I have been using Mac all my life and is good for pretty much everything (though can be confusing to new users).
I am just getting started with Linux and love its simple interface!

Overall, I would say Windows 7, Mac, Linux, Windows XP/Vista.

I smell a flame war arriving.

I run Win7 and 10.6 on my laptop and I've used ubuntu in the past. It all depends on what you use a computer for, they all have their advantages and disadvantages.
