You can' install Mac OS X. But you can install Hackintosh OS X 86. Don't ask me how, I just know about it. Search Google.

You need to hack it onto your system.

    Google the following:

    • Hackintosh
    • OSx86
    • InsanelyMac
    • Hackint0sh
    • OSx86Wiki
    • iPC Wizard
    • Leo4All

    Those should help.

Nope, you can't install it on non-Macs. This forum isn't the best place for it though, better places are:

    OSx86 Wiki

    InsanelyMac

If you use a pirated copy of OS X, sure. If you have your own, I don't think so.

alright, anyone know why you can't install it?
I figured if I reformat then try to install the OS it shouldn't know any difference...

Macs have different hardware components. They don't use the regular BIOS that PCs have, instead they use Open Firmware. There are also components built into the Mac's Logicboard (equivalent to the PC's motherboard) which are Mac only, and the OS checks that these are there.

If these Mac only components are missing, you can't install OS X.

Because the PC's were not designed to boot the same way as Windows or Linux. That's what OSx86 basically does. It emulates the way how a Mac boots into OS X. Emulating EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface).

it is legal if u already own a copy of OS X or purchased a mac with OS X on it, it is a bit of a grey area legally.
