You guys know how people slim down XP, Vista, etc to run faster and burn to CD's? Well I was wondering if anyone had done that with any Mac OS. Would that even be possible?

"People" slim down XP and Vista by delete DLL's, Files and registry keys that are there for a reason, and suddenly their computer stops working so they blame windows. It is stupid to mess with a OS's internal files.

I doubt you can slim it enough so that it fits into a CD.

Yea I figured as much seeing as even the latest OS is around 6.5 GB. I was just wondering if anyone had slimmed it down a bit.

There is a program called Xslimmer which is pretty useful, i would advise against it, but here is the LINK

Note: This only works after install, not on the Dvd it comes in.

When installing, click Customize... and de-select things you don't need. Then, when installed, run Monolingual.

How do I get a program to open upon computer startup in Mac OS X? I'm a recent Mac convert from PC, and I can't figure out how to get programs to open up when I turn my computer on. With Windows, you just put the shortcut in the "Startup" folder in the start menu. Is there something similar in Mac OS X?
