Ok, I'm dying for a Mac but right now I have to buy a car because mine is dying. I thought about a Mac mini but how does it work? can I connect that to my laptop (Hp) and use the screen? or I have to build one from scratch?

I'm not sure what you mean by acting as a hard drive tho.

No dude you have to buy a monitor. I don't think theres a way to share a laptop screen. unless you enable screen sharing and do it that way. But that would be really annoying. Almost any monitor will work and if you have a flat screen TV you can hook it to its even better.

Your also going to need a keyboard and mouse. Any mouse and keyboard will work as lock as it compatible with mac. You don't have to buy the expensive apple brand mouse and keyboard.

I know you can do that for hooking up a laptop to another monitor. But I don't think it will work the other way around. Theres no VGA IN on a laptop is there?

I see on ebay the mini with mouse and keyboard, I just have to buy a monitor for that, right? I'll start pricing it and see what works better, but if its going to total around $1000 might as well buy an iMac. I'm just tired of the Windows (too much updating)

I would go for the iMac or a macbook. More bang for your buck.
